TCA re-entry plan 2020-2021

Purpose

The purpose for which The Christian Academy is organized will be to establish, maintain, promote and operate a Christian School, which will be charitable, religious and educational.

Parents,

Please know that are goal here at The Christian Academy is to keep your children and our teachers as safe as possible during this pandemic.  With the safety of everyone we have devised the following plan to try and keep everyone as safe as possible during the operational hours of the school day.

 RE-Entry Plans for 2020-2021 School Year

  1. All water fountains will be shut down—students will need to bring water bottles.
  2. Students and teachers entering the building will have their temperature checked. You are encouraged to check your child’s temperature before sending them to school.
  3. Students and teachers are to be temperature free for 24 hours before returning to school. Parents, please monitor this and keep your child home for the 24-hour period.
  4. If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home.
  5. Should someone in your family test positive for Covid-19 please follow the guidelines from your health care provider or the Scott County Health Department.
  6. When children enter the building they will wash their hands and go directly to their classroom.
  7. Social distancing will be followed as much as possible.
  8. Weather permitting chapel will be held outside. If inside, chapel will be broken into small groups with alternating times.
  9. Some classes will eat lunch in their classrooms.
  • All students will wash their hands mid-morning, lunch and mid-afternoon.
  • Hand sanitizer will be in each classroom. Each student is encouraged to carry hand sanitizer with them as they move around the building.
  • PE, Art and Music will be conducted in the student’s homeroom or if weather permits they may have these classes outside.
  • Each student will wipe down their desk at the end of the day.
  • Each teacher will wipe down their classroom at the end of the day.
  • Each class may take their students out to playground—only one class at a time outside.
  • Each student needs to bring a mask with them to school each day.
  • Teachers or students may wear a mask but wearing a mask is not mandated.
  • Whenever a teacher/administrator feels that social distancing can’t be observed, they may ask the students to wear their mask.
  • Lunch provider will follow standard Scott County operating procedures.
  • Backpacks to be kept out of classrooms if possible.
  • Parents will be asked stay outside of the building to limit the number of people inside.
  • If parents need to speak to a teacher they are asked to call and schedule and appointment.
  • Teachers will not enter the office area.
  • Parents will be asked to not send student if they are running a temp or not feeling well.
  • Dismissal time will take a little longer due to keeping students social distanced. They will be called up one at a time to go home.
  • We will not operate the school safety patrol during this time.
  • Plans will be updated as often as needed.

With the goal of keeping everyone safe The Christian Academy will have the authority to ask anyone to not attend school
